Koster-InselnEin Ausflug an den nördlichsten Zipfel Westschwedens zu den Koster-Inseln ist jedem Westschwedenbesucher zu empfehlen. Die autofreien Inseln Sydkoster und Nordkoster lassen sich ideal auf Rad- und Wandertouren erkunden. Zahlreiche Orte und Inseln laden zum Verweilen ein, entlang der Küste der Region Bohuslän gibt es mittlerweile rund 60 Gästehäfen sowie viele Naturhäfen. Nur 32 Kilometer nördlich von Göteborg liegt die pittoreske Insel Marstrand, Austragungsort vieler internationaler Regatten. Mit ihren malerischen Holzhäusern aus den letzten drei Jahrhunderten ist die kleine Insel ein idealer Halt für einen Landgang. Schärengartenromantik der ganz besonderen Art bietet eine Tour mit dem Meereskajak. An der Küste Westschwedens kann man fast das ganze Jahr über Kanu und Kajak fahren. Vom Boot aus lassen sich Seevögel und Robben auf Augenhöhe beobachten. Außerdem ist man der Natur der Schären im Kajak besonders nah. Aber auch das westschwedische Inland bietet mit seinen Seen, Kanälen und Flüssen zahlreiche Möglichkeiten für Kanuten, Kajakfahrer und Paddler jeder Art. Der Dalslandkanal ist rund 120 Kilometer lang und 150 Jahre alt, er erstreckt sich vom Vänernsee bis an die norwegische Grenze. In seinem Verlauf werden Kanufahrer, Segler und Ausflugsschiffe in zahlreichen historischen Schleusen nach oben oder unten befördert.
